The TORNBORGS Hoist are of the rack & pinion type. This means that the hoist cage is driven up and down a rack by means of pinions. The double sided rack is of our patented (#7416188-6) and made from high-quality steel. The carrier and guide nylon rollers are bogie mounted. The TOP drive system consist of heavy-duty totally enclosed brake motors and worm reduction gearbox of our own manufacture. The components are of extremely high quality and in addition very easy to service.
Safety is a primary concern when it comes to the Tornborgs building hoist. The hoist cage is designed to meet the highest international standards. A phase sequence failure relay prevents the cage from running unless the phase connection is correct and stops the cage immediately on loss of a phase. Cut-off bars and limit switches stops the cage automatically in top as well as bottom position. Separate top runover switch is fitted for extra safety during erection.
